Does anyone know if there is an easy way to add (switch on / off) measurements?
I have found a few tools in extension warehouse for sketchup but nothing in layout
in other packages I have used, they have this functionality. Its painful having to erase each opposed to just switching off & on

Put the dimensions on their own layer and adjust the visibility of the layer as needed.

Yes. You can create layers in LayOut. And you should be using them. I wouldn’t have suggested using layers in LayOut if that wasn’t a possibility.
This shows the layers in one of my current projects. These layers are actually set up for the template I made for these projects.
