Managing Dimension Dialog Box Visibility

Are there any plugins that would help me manage the size dimension box at lower right screen?

I find myself constantly panning around the screen, or opening & closing palettes in a way that somehow tends to obscure the dimension dialog box. I will end up drawing something or using the dimension tool but then have to put things away or reposition the drawing on the screen just to be able to see the dimensions.

Is there a way to always have the dimensions up on top of everything else so they are constantly visible?

I keep it in the top left ‘Custom Toolbar’ which is easiest, or bottom left with a mac hack…

it can not be detached or floated on top of other content…
