[Mac] Upgrading to SketchUp 2015 from dock fails

I have downloaded make 2015 but when I try to download something from the 3d warehouse it tells me I should upgrade to make 2015 because I am using an older version so I download make 2015 and it does the same thing. What am I doing wrong???

did you instal the download of v2015?
if so, are you activating v2015 or an earlier version from your dock?
what version of osx are you running [Mavericks/Yosemite…]?

Thank you John
The problem was I kept starting and earlier version from my dock.

Ah yes! SketchUp installers do not remove older versions or modify existing links to them from places like the dock. You can have multiple versions installed at the same time. Since Trimble has used the same icon for several versions now, this can get confusing. Some of us edit the icon to put a version stamp on it for this reason.
