We have been using SketchUp for Schools successfully. Last year we had the same issue as today and our school had to be “whitelisted” again. Today, we began having issues logging into SketchUp. We are in an infinite loop. My domain is (@warrentboe.org). My email address is lalger@warrentboe.org
Any help you can provide would be great! We had class projects due today and no one can log in. The permissions have been granted and I checked with the tech department that nothing has changed.
Thank you,
Lynn Alger
Hi @lalger thanks for the post and sorry to hear that you are having difficulty with SketchUp for Schools. I do not think we have made any recent changes to our firewall, but I’ll double check for you just to be 100% sure. I’ll need to know if you are using Google or Microsoft to deploy the app so I can start troubleshooting things on our end too so let me know when you have a chance.
Also, I am going to assume you checked the usual settings like firewalls blocking things and that you are allowing popups and cookies for the site. If you have not checked those be sure to do so while I investigate any changes on our end. I am sure we can find a way to get you back online soon!
No problem! I am just glad that things are working again. Hopefully you and your students enjoy using SketchUp as much as I do. If you need anything going forward please feel free to reach out anytime.
My account and about half my class are also having this issue this morning. We are in the LAUSD, using Google for login. Nothing has changed on our end and we’ve been using Sketchup for schools for years. Our logins use either @lausd.net or @mymail.lausd.net
My school is also experiencing the same issue. Normally student login through the “Google Apps” (waffle) button. I have noticed the students who are experiencing login issue don’t show the SketchUp logo in Google Apps. I have them refresh the page multiple times and for some of them it did work eventually. I also checked to make sure that pop-ups aren’t blocked. I even posted a separate login for them with a direct link and that doesn’t work either.
Can you help out the students in my class? I read up on this issue. I reached out about firewall and things like allowing popups and cookies for the site. Does it have to do with our domain name? nps.org? Day three of the project… they are so creative and sharp… I hate to abandoned it.
Hi @Lisadgogo, thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delay in my reply. I was out of the office last week. I am happy to work with you to help figure out what went wrong and get your access restored. Before we get started, I need to know if you are using Google or Microsoft to deploy the app. It would also be helpful if you could grab a screenshot of the developer mode console when you are getting the error. I may be able to gather some additional info from the error it shows. If you can’t get the screenshot, a description of the error or the text of the error message would be great.
Once I have the info from you I can get things moving on our end.
Hi @mwilliams, thanks for the post and sorry to hear that you are having difficulty with SketchUp for Schools. I just made some changes to our database that may have fixed the issue for you. Can you let me know if you are still seeing the error? If you are still seeing it, we can start checking a few other settings to get this resolved.
Thanks for the update @mwilliams. can you confirm that you deployed the app via a super admin? Can you also confirm that you are allowing cookies and popups for our site?
Ok, thanks for confirming that you did everything I needed. Now can you open the developer mode in Chrome and send me a screenshot of the console tab of it? I may be able to get additional information from that to help narrow down the cause.
