I work as an IT specialist at two primary schools, Turnisce Primary School (OS Turnisce) and Kobilje Primary School (OS Kobilje).
At OS Turnisce, Sketchup for Schools works without any problems. However, at OS Kobilje, no one can log in. I tried to log in on the same computer, but I can’t log in to OS Kobilje at all. I also tried logging in as an administrator but I get an error “It looks like your school may not have access to SketchUp for Schools. To get access, please check the following:
Your school is registered with Microsoft Education.
Your Microsoft account administrator has deployed SketchUp for Schools for your domain.
You are logging in with a Microsoft Education account.”
@CaseyG might be able to help you with that. I pinged him for you.
And what to do now?
Thanks for the posts everyone. I appreciate the @ to get my attention.
As for a solution for you @AndrejOSK. It is odd that only one school is experiencing the issue. The error indicates that we may be dealing with a bad deployment but without doing some digging into the logs I can not tell for sure.
Would it be possible to get a screenshot of the console tab readout in developer mode? I may be able to get some additional information from that to narrow things down a bit. Also, does that school have any additional firewalls?
Just post what I need and use the @ command to get my attention right away when you post. Once I have that I can start looking for a solution for you.

Thanks for the post @AndrejOSK, those screenshots are very useful. I have not seen that particular error in a while. I’ll get the screenshots over to our developer team so they can confirm my suspicions. If I recall correctly the last time I saw this issue, it was related to a firewall issue on the client side. Can you let me know if you are running any additional firewalls or antivirus software that may be blocking connections? If you are, can you let me know what one(s)?
Also, if you can list your domain I would love to get you added to our database of domains to ensure that the issue is not caused by that.
“If I remember correctly, this problem was last related to a client-side firewall issue.” - If the problem is the firewall, why does it let me into the program with the domain os-turnisce.si on this same computer, but not with the domain oskobilje.si?
In the screenshot of the access attempt, I only find the error “allowedClassroomAccess”: false
I don’t think we use additional firewalls. We don’t use additional antivirus software.
The domain is oskobilje.si
Hello.
Is there any news about my problem? Are you solving it?
Andrej
We just deployed a fix, please try and report back @AndrejOSK
Sign-In Error
It looks like you’re having trouble signing in. We recommend checking the following:
-
Make sure that you’ve enabled third party cookies in your browser.
-
Double check any web filters that your school may be using to make sure that edu.sketchup.com isn’t being blocked.
If you’re sill having trouble signing in, reach out to the SketchUp community for help by visiting us at our Help Center or by contacting us on our user forum.
YES, I sure that I enabled third party cookies in our browser.
Did you go through this process?
https://help.sketchup.com/en/sketchup-education/setting-administrator
I completed the steps of the process about two years ago (with an administrative user account …onmicrosoft.com)
To deploy SketchUp for Schools using a Microsoft Education account, follow these steps:
-
Log out of all Microsoft accounts. Use incognito or private mode on your browser if you aren’t sure.
-
Go to edu.sketchup.com. A Welcome to SketchUp for Schools dialog appears.
-
Click Sign In with Microsoft.
-
Login using an administrator account for your school’s domain.
-
SketchUp for Schools will request permissions to access your account data. Click the box next to Consent on Behalf of your Organization and click Accept.
-
Repeat this process as needed for each domain your students and teachers use.
If I now log in with the admin account, the error is the same as if I log in with a regular account:
“It looks like you’re having trouble signing in. We recommend checking the following:
-
Make sure that you’ve enabled third party cookies in your browser.
-
Double check any web filters that your school may be using to make sure that edu.sketchup.com isn’t being blocked.”
Can you post another screenshot of the console tab from the browser? It looks like you may have a different error from the previous one you posted.
The difference between an unsuccessful application for OS Kobilje and a successful application for OS Turnisce is in “allowedClassroomAccess”

Thanks thats super helpful. So the allowedClassroomAccess = false means that Microsoft is reporting that the Azure tenant is not an Education account. We do this to make sure the tenant is for an elementary/secondary/primary (K-12) school. We haven’t changed that check in a long time. Are you able to compare the tenant that is working with the tenant that is not? Our other option is to just white list the second school.
The permissions seem the same to me.pdf (245.4 KB)
This case definitely seems odd. I can give something a try on my end to see if it helps. Can you share the exact domain with me so I can run a quick test?
Looks like Azure is correct. Can you also check the Microsoft Admin Center for your EDU eligibility? Perhaps compare the two schools there? In particular:
Go to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
Navigate to Billing > Your products.
Look for a notice or “card” that mentions Academic Eligibility. It will say “Approved,” “Pending,” “Declined,” or “Add your domain.”
I found out that the A1 license is active at OS Turnišče, but deleted at OS Kobilje. At both schools, the A3 license has expired. This might be the reason we cannot log in to Scratch at OS Kobilje.
I contacted Microsoft and received feedback that the school is academically eligible, and the system also shows that we can obtain licenses. To activate the A1 license, we need a payment card, which the school does not have, and I do not want to provide my own card information.
I am waiting for help from Microsoft.
