Lighting won't show up in render

Hi,

I cannot get my lighting to show up in my render. Any advice?

What rendering program are you using?

We need more information. Can you share the file and tell us what engine are you using?

Using v-ray, the file says too large and won’t let me

This is because it is a discussion forum, for file sharing there are specialized services, such as Google Drive, Dropbox or Wetransfer.

You can also post screenshots of your Frame Buffer, Asset Editor Lighting Settings, render result, etc. There’s no way anyone’s going to know what’s going on with just saying lighting’s not showing.

Here is a google drive link:

You need to grant access to that google link

As a starting point your lights are too dim or your camera exposure is too low

I’d suggest using light gen to get something visible first. Then start tuning it.

You can apply an exposure layer in the frame buffer to fine tune it afterwards

I’d also swap the glass you have for a non tinted blue one. the one called “Glass thing clear” in the chaos cosmos would work here

Wouldn’t hurt to clean up the model. It would make it easier to manage both in SKetchUp and in Vray.

I fixed incorrect tag usage, purged unused content, resiuzed a couple of excessively large materials and then ran CleanUp 3, all of which reduced the file size by nearly 60%. I see a noticeable improvement in performance on my machine which normally handles large models pretty well.
