Lift/Delete different parts of a group

I have a bunch of boards running parallel to each other, and im looking for a way to modify those in sub sections, rather than separate and change each one.

I have uploaded the diagram for an example. looking to raise one part of it, and delete some other parts.

This stems from your choice to create a separate component definition for each board. I addressed that in your OCL thread. Do the same as I showed in the other thread and replace all of the ones that are the same length with a single component definition.

In your earlier model you had created nested objects containing a number of boards. Doing that will make it easier to move them as if they are a single panel.

Here’s a method for fixing your model. I selected all of the roughly 24 foot long boards except one. I chose to leave the Deck Board#35 out of the selection since it was the lowest numbered one although it doesn’t really matter which. Then I found Deck Board#35 in the Components panel, right clicked on the thumbnail, and chose Replace Selected. If you look at Entity Info you can see that after the replacement it shows 44 of Deck Board #35 instead of 44 different components.

A couple of side points.

First, are you really planning to build the deck with no gaps between the planks? Seems like it would be a good idea to put in a 1/4 in. or so between them. That will affect the number of boards you need to order.

Second, I would suggest turning off Length Snapping in Model Info>Units. I would also set Display Precision higher than you’ll use in reality so you avoid inducing cumulative errors that might be an issue.

Your shorter full length boards are modeled at about 23’ 11-51/64" long.
