shd, It looks like you’re backing up your files on Dropbox. If so, here’s what Dropbox suggests
Return to an older version of a file in the Dropbox desktop app Open the Dropbox folder in File Explorer/Finder.
Locate the file you’d like to view previous version of.
Right-click the name of the file.
Click Version history
Click on a version to preview it.
Click Restore on the version you’d like to restore to
If what @sWilliams suggests works for you, the first thing you shouyld do is clean up the file. Otherwise you’ll just wind up back in the same situation.
I have to say that it makes me kind of sad when users follow poor workflow, either because they haven’t learned correctly or just choose to do things their own way instead of the right way, and end up creating files that cause them problems. It just doesn’t have to be that way.
That did work for me but it took some time to save it because Layout really did not want to let me save a 21.0v to a 2020 without me deleting all pattern fills used in any details! (error 11) Maybe the manual linework takes up more space than I realized.
I’ve looked through this and my other active layout files, which are all still opening fine, and there were some old/missing references showing. These include patterns fills used throughout, and only a couple erroneous models. All the missing links can be purged with one click. So I just want to be clear if the 2k files you’re referring to are somewhere else or that’s the only step I’m needing to take. I didnt see anything close to that, so you may be looking elsewhere.
As far as workflow, without being more specific, I’m just gathering that I need to be on top of that reference section in doc setup to prevent this from happening. It seems so random that it was usable last week and not today. Thanks for your help and advice today.
