I have a large Layout file that will not open. When I try to open it, there’s an hourglass icon that doesn’t go away. I tried restarting my computer, but nothing seems to help. It is a large file with images so sharing the google link below.
It can take a lot of time to open big files, leave it overnight if you can, Can you share the skp model linked to the layout file to check if its possible to reduce its size?
Thank you for the reply. How do I share the model? The file is 114mb, and I am able to open a 115mb file I was working on almost instantly; so it seems like there’s a problem with this particular file for some reason.
Try using a website called WeTransfer. It’s good for sharing large files
I had a look in the Layout file ( as ZIP file ) and I couldn’t see a SketchUp file – is there one ?
Did you produce this Layout file yourself ?

I did the same thing Paul did. This file has nothing but PNG image references. 177 of them. It’s no wonder it is taking a long time to open. LayOut has to go through every one of those images and check the reference to see if the image has changed.
Do you really need all 177 of these images in your LO file? Maybe a purge is in order.
