LayOut - feature request - never ask to load pointclouds in LO

I use pointclouds with TSE regularly to make accurate models of existing structures. I didn’t install the pointcloud extension for layout and never intend to use pointclouds in layout.
At the moment, every time a layout file is loaded or updated that references a sketchup file with a linked pointcloud you get the question ‘do you want to import the pointcloud’. It would be really nice if that could be skipped automatically.
So the request is: could a preferences setting be added that disables the loading and asking for pointclouds in layout OR could that question be skipped automatically if the pointcloud extentsion isn’t installed in layout at all?

I think when you install TSE and either run SketchUp or layout for the first time it asks you if you want to install the plugin for layout or not

Yes it does and even if you don’t install TSE in LayOut for the first time it keeps on doing what I described above.

Sorry I misread. So it can only be cancelled but never fully told to clear off

One thing you can do is to delete or rename the layout extension scanessentials.loext in
C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2026\LayOut\Extensions

That will stop that message.

Thats a very good workaround! thanks for that
