Layout crashes on opening a file - possible missing link problem

Hey everyone, I need an immediate help tbh. I made a layout file and prepared my entire presentation on it. Now I cannot open the file. I know there we some missing links and I check that missing link is a reason for layout to crash in 2020 version. I have a meeting in the morning and I cannot redo it.

Please help

Share the LO file and give us a chance to see if we can get you sorted out. Assuming it’s larger than 16 Mb, uplooad it to DropBox or WeTransfer and share the linlk.

Hey! thank you for your reply… And sorry for the late response.

Here is the link:

I am using 2023 version btw

It silently crashed LO for me. Maybe @colin can work with it.

that is the problem I am having as well. But the file has no reason to be corrupted. I saved it an hour ago. I wasn’t working on it on cloud as well. Only explanation I found was that It used to happen in 2020 when there is a missing file inside the Layout references.

I really don’t know what to do. And frankly, I hated Layout for this

I haven’t ever had this problem with my own LO files. Hopefully Colin will have some success.
FWIW, I looked at the .skp files in the LayOut file. There’s a fair amount of incorrect tag usage and some unused content.

@trent I logged a bug report about this. LO-14830.

Thanks Colin
We will be taking a look to see what is going on.

The error stems from invalid label entities that we attempt to discard at load time. It is possible to recover nearly all of this file, and I have already sent @burakcankaya a fixed version of the file via PM. We will work to fix this issue with file loading such that removal of these invalid entities does not cause a crash on file load.
