Hi, I am a student. I downloaded sketchup 2025 in september. I only learned how to use it now, but it doesn’t seem to function, it is gray. Why is that?
I need to finish my task but it is impossible without layout. Anyone here that can help please?

Update: the layout app opens seperately, but in sketchup the send to layout button is grayed out. So send to layout is impossible.
And when I try to export a 2D to PDF, in order to pass by the layout app, sketchup gets stuck…. I needed to force shut down. Rebooting my MAC didn t help
Don’t export as a pdf.
You can simply open layout on its own, start a document, and in there file/insert your sketchup file.
I don’t know why the layout button in SU is greyed out, but you don’t actually need it. I never use it myself

You can ‘Send to LayOut’ from the File menu, you do not need the button.
If you are using SKP + LO you are not using SketchUp for Schools:

What version of SketchUp are you using? It helps us help you having the proper information.
If the button is grayed out the menu item should be as well.
LayOut needs to be named LayOut, and be in the same folder as SketchUp. If you have renamed LayOut to LayOut 2025, for example, the menu item will be grayed out.
