Layout 2026 displaying all dimensions as the current date

Hi there,

Layout 2026 is giving me a really weird bug: All dimensions - newly made, and old/previously existing in 2024 version - are showing up as the current date rather than measurements. There doesn’t seem to be a way to remedy this. This condition remains when exporting to PDF as well.

Please help. This is bottlenecking my workflow.

check your auto texte parameters.

what is the autotext you’re using for the current date ?

could it be <> ?

edit : if not, please share your file. if it’s too heavy, you can use wetransfer or similar.

Oh man, thanks for that haha! I don’t know why the new version had that as a default auto text, but you were right. Glad it’s working now

It doesn’t. There would need to be text between the < and > normally.

Note also Auto Text is a per document thing. You should check your custom template and other documents. Fix them if they are set up incorrectly.

BTW, please update your forum profile. It says you’re still using SketchUp 2022 on Windows 10.

I have a bunch of files previously created in Layout 2024, with auto text tags all set up - none of which had a <> designation. Plans dimensioned, looking fine. This problem started when opening those files in the 2026 version for the first time. A new auto text tag <> was created in that menu automatically. I was toggling back and forth between ‘24 and ‘26 with the same files - ‘24 didn’t have the <> and was correct, ‘26 had that tag and everything showed up as a date. I dunno :man_shrugging:

Will update my profile.
