and it is the same folder where the Layout file is located…
In other cases I have all files on a distant server, but nearly all the time the Layout file is located in the same folder as the SKP file…and yes, I verified, name and mailadress…and highly reproducable with the local files…
Although it doesn’t explain the splats with the files saved locally, working on files saved to a “distant server” has proven to be problematic for many users who have had their files fatally corrupted working that way.
Maybe @colin will have time to look up your Bug Splat reports and give you some information.
Sure, was only a “rhetorical” question… so it seems like SKALP creates the mess?
But still can’t understand why in Layout2023 all works fine, and then….so I have to keep Sketchup 2023 or say goodbye to SKALP…what I really don’t want, even it has some issues….
I don’t know for sure that it is SKALP that causes the problem. I have seen LayOut files from others who used the extension and had problems similar to yours. I’ve never had any of my own files do the same thing yours does but I don’t use SKALP. Might not be related but maybe it is.
I’m not telling you to say goodbye to SKALP. Clearly there’s some issue somewhere, though.
I would suggest creating a new model for the project without using SKALP. Start from scratch.See if it still has the same issues or not.
Layout 2026 crashes everytime I try to update the SKP file.
Now I downloaded and unpacked from wetransfer, disabled the former SKP link so it will update from the unpacked file…crash, sent again a report, #2121…everytime updating the skp file, no matter if on the server or in the same folder as the layout file, it creates a bugsplat
Thanks, that gave me an idea to get a crash every time. For me, I open your LayOut file, choose the Update All, then on the page, where I have auto turned off for rendering, I select all, and click the Render button. Some viewports render ok, but eventually there is a crash. I should be able to work out which viewport causes the problem, and what is different about that one.
The previous problem I mentioned was related to using Skalp features with the new graphics engine in SketchUp. Using the classic graphics engine didn’t show the problem. That’s the case for your file as well. You could go into SketchUp preferences, graphics, and choose the older graphics engine. Then you won’t get crashing.
