Layout 2026.2 – Bug – Draw line polar co-ordinates broken for scaled groups

In a scaled group try to draw a line using polar co-ordinates and you’ll find the number after the angle in [ α, n] does not respect the scale of the group.

Severity – should be fixed

@PaulMcAlenan I see Polar Coordinates working by using the notation ^ α, n
I’m attaching an image of a 1:20 scale drawing with 3 lines of type Polar-, Relative- & Absolute coordinate notation in LO 26.2.243. Do you have an example of a line drawn within a scaled drawing where the scale group scale is being (incorrectly) applied to VCB input value?

The difference I observe is in line length plotted when including or omitting (mm) units in Polar Coordinates syntax.
^45, 100 should default to paper/document Units vs ^45, 100mm is specifying Units, which suggests that mm isn’t your particular document’s default.
When I have a mm-units document, the above inputs yield the same resulting line length.
When I have a cm-units document, the above inputs yield different resulting line length.

Or we have a bug with respect to input parameters.

I’ll check again but it seems to me that regardless of me typing mm – there is a difference between the cartesian line and the polar lines…?

I just did some testing and I see the same thing you describe when making Scaled Drawings.

Both of the lines were drawn at 50 m long with a scale factor of 1:1000.

In my scaled group – in my example 1:2.5 – I type ^45, 10mm and I expect to get a line at 45 degrees, length 10mm at 1:2.5.

But instead – in the 1:2.5 scaled group – I get a line 10mm at 1:1.
