In LayOut 2024 I was happily adding lots of “spot height” labels to my model. These are created using Leader Text with a drop-down auto-text to identify the co-ordinate (Z, in this example).
Usually in 2024, when I relocate a label, or make a copy of it into a different location on the same model view, the coordinate would automatically refresh to the new position (ie where the leader is attaching to the model).
This means that I can add lots of labels quickly just by clicking and dragging.
However When I open the file in LayOut 2025, the markers do not update after I have moved them. Each one has to be manually reattached. It takes several clicks to do this. Not cool when I have 177 houses with lots of labels required on each. And the model’s 3d surface will be getting updated/adjusted several times.
Is this an issue with 2025, or the new experimental graphics engine?
I noticed this too. Have you tried making the autotext label in a scrapbook? When you pull it off a scrapbook, the leader should attach without the extra clicks.
This is bugged/changed behaviour in 2025. The quickest way to refresh your labels is once placed, select all the affected labels, and “nudge” them with the keyboard, then nudge them back again. If they are connected they should then show the required values.
The keyboard arrow bump works, but the scrapbook method would be faster. When you pull the leader from the scrapbook, don’t “click-and-drag” (as shown in the first instance in the video). Do a “click-move-click” and it will stamp the autotext leader around the page.
Thank you all for bringing this to our attention and it looks like there is a bug auto connecting. - I have captured this and we will be working on a fix.
