Issues with the Follow Me Tool When Copying a Face to New Location

I am having issues with the follow me tool when trying to copy a face to a new location. The face contains two arcs that when created individually appear correct, however when copying the profile of the shape to a new location, the follow me tool breaks the arcs into multiple segments.

I have created a component of the profile face and opened that to create a path for the face to follow, as well as simply copy and pasting the face to a new location.

That’s normal behavior. Three options to mind to deal with it.

  1. Copy the profile before you run Follow Me so you have an unexploded copy after Follow Me.
  2. Before or after copying the profile after Follow Me, select the edges, right click on them, and choose Weld Edges.
  3. Use Eneroth Auto Weld to weld the edges at the ends of the Follow Me extrusion so you don’t have to concern yourself with welding them when you need to reuse the profile.

FWIW, at least for the trim molding objects you show in your screenshot you really wouldn’t need to run Follow Me more than once. You can copy the trim group/components and place it around the next door. If the doors are different heights or widths you can modeif the copy to suit.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the insight and will give that a go.
