Issues with Error alert icon on Layout 2026

I am a teacher and I was trying to correct this file on Layout 2026 that one of students made, but even if I exploded the group, that she made of dimensions, vieports and lines, I couldn’t select the viewport of the lateral view of the closet. There is a way to select it, without temporarely cut and paste everything that is above an istance/viewport? I mean something like structure panel in Sketchup?

I ask this because I have selected the viewport with the right button of the mouse on top of it and there was written only “Rendering Modello” and not “Modalità di rendering” and after “Vettoriale,Raster, Ibrida”.

I mistakenly clicked on “Rendering Modello” and the image of the closed on the lateral view is disappeared and now there is this Error alert Icon. What it means? Where I can read wich error is mentioning?

I am sorry for my english. I am italian and I am trying my best.

Have a nice day!

Can you share the LayOut file? It would make it much easier to help you.

Ok.I try to upload it.

I see a problem immediately upon opening the file. The path for the SketchUp file is empty.

How did the student add the SketchUp reference to the LayOut file?

I can select the viewport with the warning by using a small right to left selection window.

It caan’t be updated because the reference is broken.

Can you get and share the student’s SketchUp model file that was used for this? The .skp file does not exist inside the Ref folder in the LayOut file. There are only a few image files.

Also, where has the student been saving the SketchUp model file while working on it and the LayOut file?

At the moment I can’t because I will see them again next week. Anyway when I opened the image was there but as I said trying to correct some missing lines on her pc I clicked that “ Rendering modello” and it disappeared. Why?There is no explanation when these error icons appear and I don’t know where I can look to undestand wich problem is going on.

I can’t say since I didn’t see the file earlier but I suspect it was due to a bad reference path.

Normally, if the LayOut file is made correctly the yellow triangle indicates that the external reference file is newer than the embedded file and that LayOut want to update the embedded version.

I don’t know what was done to delete the embedded reference from the LayOut file, though. Usually this seems to happen when the files are stored in some network or cloud location.
