yes. I think the problem is that I imported a component on another scale and I can’t find it to erase it. I think it is really far from the origin. I just don’t know how to correct it
I normally work with files this size, but the slow down / lag on this one is something else. Trying to isolate the issue. But whatever is causing the issue is so far away that I can’t see it.
I know the file has a lot of geometry. The base of the file was given to me and I had to make do with it. Bu maybe I should have started from scratch !
OMG. that’s so weird. It was all buggy and glitchy, reloaded it and it was ok.
Normally solving something precision based happens straight away, but strangely in this file I have to open and close sketchup for it to kick in. I’ve never seen that before.
Almost always better to start from scratch. Or import and redraw things to be sure that lines that should connect or be parallel are actually connected and parallel. I often redraw/trace over imported CAD linework since I don’t trust CAD exports unless I’m the one who’s made them.
The component named étage cegelecx is located an absurd distance from the rest of the model. It contains 4703988 edges, almost a third of the model total. It looks like this:
If you don’t need that component, select it in the outliner and delete it. Then purge the model. Otherwise, select it in the outliner, copy it, and paste into a new, clean model to reset its transformation. Then you can copy it back into your original model at some sensible location. It will probably create a new component definition, so once again you should purge the model.
