Is Exploding The Same As Ungrouping?

I’m in SketchUp Make and don’t see an option to ungroup. Is exploding the same thing as ungrouping? I do see an explode option. Thanks.

Basically, yes, it is the same. There are three entity types that can be exploded:

Components
Groups
Images

The first two can have multiple levels of nesting, exploding takes care of one level at the time. One caveat, the entities that are exploded inherits the ‘Layer’ (now called ‘Tags’) assignment of the higher level!
