Introducing the Extensioneers Guild

Hi everyone,

I’d like to introduce the Extensioneers Guild, an independent organization created by and for professional SketchUp extension developers.

Our main goal is to bring professional developers together to share knowledge and act as a unified voice when communicating with Trimble and other industry stakeholders.

Here is a quick overview of what the Guild offers:

  • We act as a unified voice to promote our long-term interests with SketchUp and Trimble. Standing together gives us the leverage to advocate for our professional conditions, while actively helping Trimble prioritize their roadmap and make informed decisions regarding extensibility.

  • We provide an active, private forum to openly discuss professional challenges, coding practices, licensing, code security, etc.

  • We organize meetups, both online and in-person.

  • We explore opportunities for joint price deals on common services like payment processors, marketing, licensing tools, etc.

Membership is open to individuals who have developed, or significantly contributed to, a SketchUp extension built to high professional standards. The extensions you’ve worked on can be large or small, open-source or proprietary.

Because we share sensitive information and engage directly with Trimble, all members are required to sign Trimble’s NDA and agree to our Code of Conduct. The Guild’s finances are managed transparently via Open Collective, with an annual membership fee of €100.

If you are interested in joining, you can find more details at extensioneers.org. To apply, just complete the membership form and email it to apply@extensioneers.org.

Feel free to ask any questions below.
