Intro on Sketch Up Free with plan for Pro

I am new to Sketch Up and aim toward pro in order to create manufacturable 3D designs with 2D documentation.

I have considered jumping right to Pro since Sketchup Campus seems to be aimed at a Pro rather than Free, and there are more tools (perhaps less frustration). Comments and advice about your own learning and investment process are appreciated. Thank you.

well, there is a course on sketchup free, you could consider it to learn the basic tools (they are the same in pro) and after that, if you feel like trying, you can get the 7 days trial and do the pro courses with it. Good point is, you’ll go through the basic part really quickly.
