Importing DWG or DXF only brings in the layers, and no line information

I am working on SU Pro 2016 on a Mac. Recently I have had problems importing either dxf or dwg’s into SU. The Model Info box shows the result of having imported a file, only the layers show up, but no entities. I have asked the originator to save the AutoCad Civil 3D file in older straight autocad versions, all to no avail. From past topics listed, I dont see anything similar. Can someone perhaps guide me in letting the land surveyor know how to save his contour drawings.

You will have to use the “Export to AutoCad” command in AutoCad Civil 3D to convert its proprietary objects to standard 3D or 2D AutoCad geometry that can be imported into SketchUp. The result depends on the current view in AutoCad so that a 2d plan view produces 2D lines etc and a 3D view results in a 3D model.

Thank you Dan, we have resolved the problem, now working like a charm

Also note that sometimes objects are hidden due to section planes being activated, so check your sections planes too when importing.
