:folded_hands::+1: you’re welcome ! It was fun, and these sessions are such a big help I hope for all the participants. It’s what SU is all about.

Good morning, team!

Just a quick reminder that Monday will be the fourth time the group will meet to take a peak of over a professionals shoulder. This time @Cyentruk will show us his workflow and what he’s been able to achieve in architecture with Sketchup and his 5D+ extensions.

So see you at Session 4: June 30th as “always”:

GTM-8 (San Francisco, etc.) 07:00 - 10:00
GTM-5 (NewYork, etc.) 10:00 - 13:00
GTM+0 (London, Lisboa, etc.) 15:00 -18:00
GTM+1 (Berlin, Amsterdam, etc.) 16:00 - 19:00
GTM+7 (Hanoi, etc.) 22:00 - 01:00

Regards,

Napper

I’m interested on the 5D workflow, I bought it but I haven’t used to its full potential, I’m so used to my workflow and it’s been hard to give it a chance to another one that could probably be better.

Hey y’all,

thanks everyone for joining todays session and thanks @Cyentruk for the awesome presentation into his projects, the ins and outs of Trimble Connect and his awesome suite of plugins!!

I am still quite blown away. I texted one of my colleagues - “we have no right to use Sketchup, after what I’ve seen today” but that would be the wrong lesson of course. :see_no_evil_monkey:

Ok. What I did take away - learn more about trimble connect. And there seems to be quite a few resources like this YouTube channel. Time to step up our game…

Next time @jure will add more insights by showing us how he uses 5D+Plus to manage his projects. After that - I recon - we will step back into less plugin-backed workflows again. But this was mind opening!

Date to be announced soon!

Hey everyone!

Big thanks for joining the session and for all the great feedback! I really appreciate the support – it keeps me fueled to keep pushing the 5D+ plugins forward.

Looking forward to @jure ’s upcoming session – can’t wait to see his workflow in action. I’m sure we’ll all walk away with new tricks!

A big shoutout to @napperkt for hosting us all, even while being swamped with work. You’re a legend for still finding time to run this group and grab a beer :clinking_beer_mugs: Stay healthy and awesome!

Here is the link to all the drawing files and slides I had presented from the last meetings.

I keep thinking about yesterdays session. One of these days you gotta show us a bit more in depth of how you guys actually manage this information load. We saw hundreds of connected files that you obviously need for these type of projects.

My questions concern less Sketchup but more the project management part. How do you guys quality check? How do you do revision management? How do you see that this part of a project, this model, this Layout-drawing whatever is “done” and cannot be changed any more, is on site or whatever. I think there is still a lot we can learn from you apart from your awesome modeling process!

@Cyentruk and @napperkt I’m really sorry for not having attended. I wasn’t in Lisbon so I couldn’t make it. I got a sun burn in return…

Thank you @Cyentruk for showing not only your workflow but also being generous in sharing some insights in your work, and thank you also to @napperkt for organizing. I really enjoy this Sketchup ‘Mastermind’, very inspiring to see so much creativity and striving towards better processes. I’m looking forward to another session!

Not quite dead yet.

Hi everybody. Ok - so this has been a long break. A too long break. Way too long.

I could say: It was the planned summer break.

It wasn’t. It was me being in over my head busy. And not taking care of this group. For which I would like to apologize.

But let’s not give up, we had a good flow. And we learned so much, already.

Hence - new plan. As it stresses me to actually settle on a new date and invite everybody, I have decided to just set up a few meetings at once. This way we can all plan ahead a bit better and it takes a bit of the ANGST away.

More specifically - new invites are out for Session 5 (October 20th), Session 6 (December 1st) and Session 7 (January 19th).

Same times as always!

So everybody involved should already have gotten their Google Invites. If you haven’t or you feel like wanting to join, let me know and I’ll add you (after careful examination and ritual initiation).

Thank you for your attention to this German.

Hey yall - just a quick reminder - today is our next session - this time with @RyanE at the helm!

Can I join this group, I have my own BIM workflow but I´d love to know different options, specially with 5D+

@RyanE fantastic meeting yesterday. Great to see nice architecture being created in Sketchup. And very nice to see that you do use much of the same workflow I do. This gif shows how to place diagonal dimensions in Layout drawings easily (or as easy as I can do them). Just drive the first in the right direction and keep double-clicking for generating the others. As long as the first is ok, the others will follow the same direction.

It was my pleasure. And thank-you for the kind words. Perhaps someday there will be an opportunity to work together on something!
