I lost everything after I pressed something

I was pressing control z or control a or maybe shift z or some combination of both and suddenly everything vanished, except a for a few strings of text. I pressed control z to undo but nothing happened. So I closed the program and made sure to click not save changes. Then I reopened the file and it was the same problem.

I also can’t draw anything. I tried the zoom in with the red arrows but nothing. I looked at the menu-view-component and made sure nothing is hidden. I tried renaming the backup skb to skp and opening that but it loads the current program.

Im frustrated how the hell sketchup did this when I made sure to click not save changes when everything vanished. WTF

Post the file if you want people to try fixing it. Did you try removing the text objects and zooming to extents again? Also, opening the Outliner, selecting something there, right-clicking and selecting “Zoom to selection” might also work.

If you want us to help you share the .skp file.

I get that you are frustrated but it’s no likely that SketchUp did this to you.

Are you really using SketchUp 2018? Is it a cr acked version?

I compared the outliner from this file to the backup file from a month ago I made. The backup file had dozens. This file has only 3. I think everything is really gone, yet this file and my backup file are nearly the same size.

The “In Model” section of the Component Browser has a lot of component definitions. The model has these objects hidden:

I removed a couple of texts. Otherwise the model space is empty.

I think that at this time it would probably be best to go back to your older backup file (make a copy of it first).

ok, thanks for trying
