I cannot open a SKP recovered file - URGENT HELP PLEASE as it is for my exam

Hi,
I am a student and i have deleted by mistake my 3D SKP file. I have recovered the file now but i cannot open it anymore… Any tips please?? I must give it back for my end of year exam tomorrow and i am screwed now. Any help would be amazing as i do not know what else to do and the file is massive 490Mb. Thank you

It’s probably not recoverable. In the past it has been seen that recovery applications scramble the contents of the file making it useless. You could upload the file to DropBocx or We transfer and let us take a look to see what the state of the file is.

Your profile says you are using SketchUp for Schools. That is a web based version for young school children. Is that what you are using? Or did you purchase an EDU license?

Yes - the school has asked us to buy a Licence. The file is 490Mb… sounds too big for a transfer; if not too big can you share the dropbox details and will happily share it

So you have an EDU license, not SketchUp for Schools.

Share the file via DropBox.

Unfortunately, that file contains nothing but zeros. It can’t possibly be salvaged. Sorry!

@slbaumgartner beat me to it but I see the same as he reports.

Do you have the .skb file? Maybe it is usable.

Please correct your forum profile. That information helps us help you if it is right.

The dropbox is the skb file renamed to skp

oh no…
this is just a long night then to rework everything i can as quick as i can. Thank you for trying
