How best to use the group(2x4) that is “C” to make boards (group A & B) separate. I mean to say create two separate boards A&B utilizing the board labeled “C”.
There are many ways, one way is with solid tools Trim. It will make A and B a group which you can then remake as separate groups or components.
You could also just trace two edges and use pushpull to remove the overlapping section, or even use adjust the length of AB to just A and copy move another component to make C.
There are endless options.

Curious: What do you want in the end? Do you want a single component that has a chunk missing out of the middle? What are you modeling and how will you use the model once it’s complete?
Working on a chicken coop build. I expect to get a cut list and the finished product will be in my back yard. Also working on a basement remodel.
For an accurate cut list, then, however you cut the horizontal piece you’ll need to split it into two separate components. Don’t forget to do that.
