I have SketchUp Pro 2025 and my son has SketchUp Make 2017. I used to be able to use Save As to 2017 Make format but apparently no longer. Is that option totally gone, or am I missing something? Is there a way we can “communicate” with a 3D model? Obviously he won’t have all the whistles and bells that are available to me, but all we need is the basic tools in Make.
There are extensions that can back save to an earlier version. Look in the Extension Warehouse or Sketchucation. See: Dezmo Save to older SketchUp Version
If your son is using SketchUp 2017 on Windows, he could install an extension that will open newer version SketchUp models, too.
Dave,
Thanks, I’ll take a look at the extension. My son also has a Mac mini with the M4 chip so an extension for Windows won’t help.
