How to make elements within an element re-align automatically upon resize?

I have a collection of plan symbols to mark off certain areas for modifications. The text doesn’t change, but the width of the area does.

Is there any way to set it up so the text re-centers automatically when the width changes?

1 - original position

2 - border resized

3 - intended result (now manually centered, how to make it automatic?)

Make a Dynamic Component. 3D text component with its axes centered in the component. Position of the text set to 1/2 the overall length (LenZ) of the box and 1/2 the width (LenY).

Make the label in LayOut, center text, dashed line border.

90% of the process is in Sketchup. Between the initial design, showing to the client, finalized design, showing to the architect & builder, there’s a lot of benefits in having such symbols and framework items in Sketchup, before we arrive to the last step in Layout.

That’s fair, but I use LayOut for those exact same things… I just get faster at it.

I think Dave has to right approach. Curic Single Line Text, make a dynamic component, then setup extra tags and scenes to control it all.
