How to look at the back of shadows

Hi Folks,

I’d like to know if it’s possible to look up at shadows.

I have few problems when viewing them in the normal fashion when looking down upon them as they cast themselves on the ground plane, or any other object which they fall upon that’s below my eye level.

However what happens to the shadows when looking up on them… from either the perspective of being below the ground plane and looking up on ones model. Or, say the perspective of looking up through a glass ceiling or some other semi opaque surface.

I guess this is not allowed in SU because every surface has two independent sides and the shadow casting info from one side doesn’t push through to the other.

I’m curious to know if it could, and what would be the best workaround to fake it.

Have you had a look at Tig’s Shadow Projector.
