When exporting from Tekla Structures to SketchUp, my assembly structure is lost, and all elements appear as separate objects. How can I keep the assembly structure intact during export?
Additionally, after modifying the model in SketchUp, what is the best way to export it to 3DBI for use in Power BI while maintaining the correct structure?
Any advice on export settings or workflows would be greatly appreciated!
SketchUp has no other ways to organize a structure than nesting objects (bolt components inside an assembly component). So this has to be done manually or via a script.
What kind of information do you need inside PowerBi?
Perhaps the TrimBim (.trb) contains all you need?
@kengey has a PowerBi connector for SketchUp (and Revit)
The model created by Tekla was exported to SketchUp and then imported into Power BI using 3DBI. However, the name IDs don’t match—Tekla uses assembly structures, but Power BI shows single parts.
How can I maintain the assembly structure and keep consistent name IDs in Power BI?
