Hi. I’m trying to figure out how to drape a patterned fabric texture without distorting the pattern (Sketchup Make). I am using a projected texture. Here’s a pic (tried to upload file, but too big)

Hi,
You can check the part **“Projecting textures onto a curved surface”** in this article: [Sticking a Photo or Texture to a Face | SketchUp Help](https://help.sketchup.com/en/article/3000114)
You might be missing some of the steps.

Hi. So the only part of the instructions I wasn’t doing was using the Alt key while sampling my texture. But even holding the alt key as instructed, I get the same results. So apparently I’m still missing something. Any other ideas?

Could you please upload your model to [**3D Warehouse**](https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/), so we can have a look.

Okay, hopefully this is the correct url:

[https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/warehouse/getpubliccontent?contentId=8edd7604-c944-4898-a6b6-9bfe6b97de32](https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/warehouse/getpubliccontent?contentId=8edd7604-c944-4898-a6b6-9bfe6b97de32)

I have set the bed on a “carpet” of the texture I want to use. Thanks

I’m afraid that’s not correct link. Make sure you made it ‘public’ and not ‘private’. What did you name your model when you uploaded?

Your link should look like this: [Sang | 3D Warehouse](https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/2460c61caf90b579de650492e45fb14f/Sang)

Kristin, there are a few tools out there that might help. One of them is Whaat’s [SketchUV](http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=44501). Also look at ThomThom’s [UV Toolkit](http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/uv-toolkit%C2%B2)

And here’s the right [link](https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/98fa2023-fe84-40fd-95ae-0fea2da2f414/King-Bed) to use for getting the model downloaded from the 3D Warehouse.

Thanks. I’ve downloaded the extension, but it’s going to take me awhile to figure it out. I’m a slow learner when it comes to these things, especially when the tutorials don’t have an audio. It looks like it does whaat I need (ha ha!).

Would you mind telling me how to find the correct warehouse link? I tried looking it up on the forum, but couldn’t find the answer (must be asking wrong). Thanks for the help.

Kristin, I found your bed model by searching “bed” in the 3D Warehouse in my browser and then I copied the link from the address line. You would just go to your models in your browser and get the link that way.

That’s how I did it, at least that’s what I _thought_ I did. So anyway, there’s no secret I’m not aware of. I’ll try again the next time a similar situation comes up. Thanks!
