It’s unclear what you are asking. Which chopped edge in the picture, the ones on the wooden pillars? Are you asking how to create this in sketchup, or in an extension with code as your topic suggests or how to make these wood pillars in real life?
Assume you mean posts. Just draw the full posts and then the profiles of the pieces you need removed at the edges and then delete that geometry. Then draw lines to “heal” the parts that have been removed. see simple crude sample (attached)
