Hello, please can you tell me how to get from the blank browser window in the free Sketchup to the window that has the tools in it. I also have this problem with the 7 day free trial of Sketchup 2026, having downloaded and installed it. All I want to do is get a few 3d models from the Warehouse and insert them into a slideshow project that I am making. I also want to open a few big .skp files that I made a few years ago.
Your forum profile says you are using Windows 8.1 and you have nonsense for the graphics card. The current version of SketchUp doesn’t support that old operating system and it may be that your graphics card isn’t supported either. Your profile also says you have SketchUp 2023 but presumably that isn’t true?
Please update your forum profile if that information is not correct. And put in the actual graphics card model.
What web broser are you using with the free version?
Perhaps you have some sort of popup blocker or A/V application that is preventing SketchUp from running correctly.
Dear Dave,
Thanks for your email. My 2nd oldest laptop was running 8.1, but I upgraded to a MacBook with, I think, Windows 10 in it. My latest laptop is also running 10. I don’t know about Sketchup 2023, but I have in recent history had a free Sketchup program running on the Mac. So to my profile . . ,
From David
Seriously?
So a cr acked version of SketchUp 2023?
… is total nonsense.
If you want help you need to give us useful information which include the correct version of Sketchup as well as the correct operating system and graphics card.
Yes. It originally had OSX in it as I bought it new, but I went to a shop and had Windows put in as well. Any software that I downloaded automatically installed into Windows.
