How do I make Sketchup draw line On Intersection, and not On Edge?

Greetings!! I am using Sketchup version 25.0.660. New SketchUp user who is trying to get better and I am practicing and running into an annoying issue that I’m sure has an easy solution.

I am trying to connect 4 lines using the Line tool. I have two very long parallel lines running next to each other and I am trying to draw in two smaller lines to create a skinny, connected rectangle. However I’ve noticed that depending on the angle of my camera view Sketchup will only allow me to draw a line On Edge. What I want to do is draw a line On Intersection.

In the linked animated gif you’ll see what I mean. If I twitch my mouse it quickly goes from “On Intersection” to “On Edge”. In this case it actually isn’t the worst problem because at least I can edge my mouse a pixel over and draw On Intersection which is great. But I’ve had other scenarios where it doesn’t even give me the option of drawing on Intersection and only lets me draw “On Edge”.

How do I force Sketchup, regardless of the camera angle and vantage point, that I want to draw a Line on intersection? Is there a way to manually toggle drawing a line On Edge versus On Intersection?

Maybe you need to turn off Length Snapping.
