Hit and miss on spinning logo during login

Hi, I’d just like to confirm that our domain is whitelisted for your firewall, I went through the process in September 2023 and all was working fine until a few weeks ago.

Now we’re getting the spinning logo of doom on a lot of pupil devices after they login using google sso, a factory reset of the chromebook will resolve the issue but only for that session and it often returns on the next sign in. A profile clear doesn’t always fix the issue.

We’ve not changed anything on our end but I went through our settings and enforced allowing 3rd party cookies on the devices.

our domain is woodchurchhigh.com and the school website is https://woodchurchhigh.com/ - pupils are ages 11-16 and we run an engineering course that uses SketchUp for Schools.

Please let me know if there are any other troubleshooting steps that can be taken as at the moment this is making SketchUp unusable in the classroom.

@CaseyG

I think I managed to track down the issue so hopefully this can help anyone else experiencing this. Need to do more testing but so far the issue has been resolved by going to Google Admin > Devices > Chrome > Settings > Device Settings > User Data

Chromebooks were set to ‘Erase all local user data’ rather than ‘Do not erase all local user data’

The thing is, this setting hadn’t been changed for years and until recently SketchUp was working with no issues for pupils, so clearly something has changed somewhere recently.

Hope this helps somebody.
