Help with saving

Trimble or whatever won’t save a particular file. I signed up for the free trial but stuck to the web based version only for all files and the day after the trial ended this one particular file won’t save at all. The file is only 10 mb. I can open and alter other smaller files.

The file won’t save and now I have to download the file everytime to save. I looked up to clean up geometry and components. Need help figuring out what I’m doing wrong.

Thanks

What operating system are you using? “year” is not the answer to that question in your profile. What graphics card? “graphics” is not the answer to that.

What web browser are you using?

Download the .skp file to your computer and share it so we can see what you’ve got.

Windows 11 on a Geforce RTX Studio. I have over hundred gigs of hard drive space to save. How do I share the file?

That might be on your computer but not on Trimble Connect.

What browser?

First download the .skp file to your computer. Then drag and drop the file into a reply here.

doublestud.skp (10.0 MB) I use Chrome and I use the desktop app, but both versions do the same thing.

Which desktop app? Do you have a subscription for that?

I opened your model in SketchUp for Web and saved it to my Trimble Connect storage. It saved with no problem. Perhaps you have a ad blocker running?

No subscription. The browser offers a desktop app that I use, but like I said the result is the same whether it’s still in the browser or downloadable Chrome app

I do use ad blocker. I open up my cookies for 3D warehouse. I worked on the file all day yesterday without issue. I will try without the adblocker.

No it doesn’t. The only current desktop version of SketchUp is SketchUp 2026 which requires a subscription. That button is basically just a shortcut to the web version.

The 3D Warehouse and SketchUp for Web are different things.

There as been no change with or without adblocker. I’ve also signed out and back in. It’d be great if i could just save directly to my drive. I don’t need broken international servers.

I removed the ground and now it saved. Must be the component. Weak servers.

If that was the case I would have had the same problem saving the file. I had no trouble doing so.

then my upload speed might be slow and the servers time me out when attempting to save. I’ll look for offline solutions because I don’t need the servers.

Keep your models smaller.

Use the Downlad option and remember to do it frequently.

Hey interested in this issue, could you open the dev tools and send a picture of the console? We always try to make sure that our saving systems are as robust as possible.
