Help using follow me, everytime I use it for my planned gym handle it says "this does not appear to be a valid path"

I’m trying to make a handle for my gym. It has several curved lines at different angles as you can see in the image. The bar is going to be made from 24mm mild solid round steel, so I’m trying to make a 24mm circle follow the line so I can make it a visual bar. Everytime I do it it says “not a valid path”. I’m not sure what to do, any help please. Also, please know, im a beginner.

The model is too small, work on a larger scale - 10x or even 100x.

plus on the last image, you’re not selecting all the path. parts of it are still black, ie not selected.

but yeah, with small things like that, better scale up 100x then after scale down
