elbow image example
How do I draw a reduction curve in free sketchup?
Make the elbow with the follow-me tool and scale one end afterwards…
If you explode the curves first, before follow me, you will get easily selectable edges that you can weld, then scale will be uniform. Soften when done.
You get the same result without exploding if you use the polygon tool instead of the circle tool.
If you have welded the curves the 3d scale will work.

Your video shows that you haven’t done what I said. Go back and read what I said and look at the gif and you will see that I Explode the Curves of the circle before I use follow me which gives you the Hard edges. Then you select it all and Weld those Hard edges. This means the longitudinal edges are continuous curves and will behave as such. Therefore when you scale one end it transfers along the length of those curves rather than just one section like in your video.
And as I also mentioned, you can use the polygon tool set to 24seg (or any number you choose) to draw your circles and you will automatically get the hard edges. Either way works.
@Box , I also tried this in SketchUp Make 2017 but my weld extension (from Rick Wilson) doesn’t work with the selection of the whole elbow…
Selecting all segments of 1 curve does weld but offcourse this would be a very tedious task to do with 48 curves…(inside and outside of the elbow)
Try quad face tools for your selection.
