### Here are a few notes about the required (and recommended) hardware and iOS specs for using SketchUp for iPad:

- The app can be installed on a wide range of [iPad Pro](https://www.apple.com/ipad-pro/), [iPad](https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-ipad/ipad-10-2), [iPad Air](https://www.apple.com/ipad-air/) and [iPad mini](https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-ipad/ipad-mini) models. For performance reasons, we recommend that you use the most powerful M1 iPads you can get your hands on (especially if you are likely to be working with large, demanding files).
- The app requires that you have at least iOS 15 installed on your iPad.
- The application experience is centered around the use of a [second-generation Apple Pencil](https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MU8F2AM/A/apple-pencil-2nd-generation). However, you can also use the app with a first-generation Apple Pencil, as well as other third-party stylus peripherals that are supported by iPadOS.
- The app also offers support for [Magic Keyboard & Trackpad](https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MXQT2LL/A/magic-keyboard-for-ipad-air-4th-generation-and-ipad-pro-11-inch-2nd-generation-us-english), [Bluetooth enabled 3-button, and scroll-wheel mice](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/surface-mobile-mouse/8SJJQT4L40XX/?activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab).
- For those of you who just have a plain ‘ol iPad, without any other peripherals, the app also supports multi-touch interactions.
- Further, the same editor app that we’re developing for iPad can be installed on [iPhones](https://www.apple.com/iphone/). When the app is installed on a phone, you can use the phone version of the app in Viewer mode.

Thanks, Robert for dusting this off. I revised the above as well.

Review and Update:

1. So when I installed 1629 on the iPad with iOS 14, it would quit on launch.
2. When I then updated the OS to 15, 1629 would launch, but seriously did not function right.
3. I then downgraded to the previous release (1598), which worked fine.
4. Lastly re-installed 1629, and now is seems to work as expected.

Back in gear now and going forward again.

Me too. I wonder if sometimes that a beta earlier versions needs to be uninstalled before installing the new version. At this point there are still radical changes going on.

You would think Test Flight would include a “Re-Install” button. It allows you to install a previous release, after which you can again install the newer one. Some feedback you could give Apple about their software, perhaps.
