Getting crash report when placing component into a nested component at the third level of hierarchy

Hi, I am a new user of the free version of Sketchup Web (3 weeks) and have been creating a fairly detailed model of a house construction project. I use components exclusively to group entities in the model. There is a hierarchy of components that extends about 6-8 levels deep. Just today, I can no longer place components into the component hierarchy more than two levels deep. I navigate to the desired level of hierarchy in the model and select a component to add. As soon as I move my mouse out of the component list the app crashes. I have submitted a crash report.

I assumed I had somehow corrupted the model , so I created a new blank model as a test case and created some simple components and a hierarchy that was three levels deep. This new test case also crashes without fail when I try to place a new component into the third level of hierarchy. I was using Windows 11 and Chrome, so I went to Ubuntu and Chrome and also Firefox and they also have the same issue. Very strange since it has been working just fine for me with the complex model with much deeper hierarchy than the test case.

Is it possible to corrupt ones account so that new models would be affected?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am experiencing the same problem.

Indeed the same issue im facing - also on chromium and mozilla.

64 bit application and 32gb of ram - it does not use more than 20% of that at the time of crash, and is easily replicated by pasting a component at the third level of hierarchy.

There’s a bug in the web versions that make it crash when making a move-copy 2 or more levels deep. This could very well be related…
The SketchUp dev team is aware of that one and working on a fix.
See here: Sketchup Free keeps crashing after making a duplicate move

@Gray do you know if the web team is aware of this variation of the bug?

Yes, the crashing variation of this bug is related and being worked on along side the freezing issue. The same workarounds apply.
