Framing Walls for Tiny Homes

I’m a big guy - 6’ 2" and 260 lbs so 8’ ceilings are my minimum - tired of bumping my head, lol

A little more explanation on precut studs might help, and address your sheetrock question. Don’t think anything’s changed since I did framing years ago, but the precut studs are 92 1/4" long. Add to that 3x 1 1/2" for top and bottom plates and you have 96 3/4". Put 1/2" sheetrock on the ceiling, and you now have 8’-0 1/4" left, which allows for 2x 4’ width of sheetrock, plus 1/4" leeway at the bottom for floor variations, and/or getting a lifter under the bottom edge to snug the bottom sheet to the upper one. 1/8" left over if you’re using 5/8" Type X sheetrock.

Thanx stevehausz, now that is a great explanation.

Studs in real life are 1 1/2 X 3 1/2 X 92 5/8 long
