Flip Along Mirror and attach both halves

Think I will group the wing to make it solid and white surfaces. Maybe that will fill the wing interior?

SketchUp is a surface modeler, there is nothing behind or between the faces you draw.
The rule that determines if a group is a SketchUp solid is that every edge has two adjacent faces, no more, no less.
Not like solids in other software.

Hi Dave,
I found my error. I had drawn a 12" rectangle, draw half the wing 6" long. Then used flip along which was a 12" rectangle with a 6" half wing. Attached both rectangles, but, the wings were 12" apart. LOL.
Woke in the middle of the night and realized my mistake. Got up this morning and corrected my drawing. Voila!
Should I make the wing a component?
Thank you for your support. It has helped me to be a better teacher for teaching Sketchup and in the end, the students are recipients.

Yes always use components and or groups for the geometery

Why is it that “Make Unique” is greyed?? I did make the wing a component…

If there is only one instance of the component in the model it is already “unique” so make unique wouldn’t do amything.

Okay.
