File Corrupt after Power Outage: "This does not appear to be a SketchUp model" (SketchUp 2024)

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a serious issue with a SketchUp 2024 file. While I was working, there was a sudden power outage and my UPS failed to provide backup. Since then, I cannot open the file.

Error Message: “This does not appear to be a SketchUp model” Version: SketchUp 2024

Things I’ve already tried:

  1. Renaming the .skb file to .skp - (Didn’t work)

  2. Trying to ‘Import’ or ‘Insert’ the corrupt file into a new blank SketchUp file - (Failed)

  3. Checking the ‘Working’ folder and Temp files - (No luck)

I have invested a lot of time in this project. Is there any expert who can check the file’s header or try to recover it?
