Hello! I have a problem opening my file this time around although I was working on it fine earlier on the day. I made sure that I saved the changes before I closed. But I should have known better just saving it in Trimble cloud. I tried downloading the latest version of the file and opening it up internally in my computer and a few other tips, but no luck.

One thing I did notice while checking is the file size between the latest version and the one before it, have a bad feeling that one of the models I loaded in from the warehouse made it too much for sketchup to load in. Anyways, any insight or help on the file would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

here is the file, considering its too big to attach:

I had no trouble opening the file you shared in SketchUp 2025.

I see, do you know what could be the possible reasons why it won’t load up in my end? Small things I noticed is there is no preview for this file compared to the others I have that are working. Also when I open it also directly gives me the error, no time of loading anything.

Newest updates to SketchUp fixed the way it handles some errors like bad groups in model files. I didn’t get any error messages when opening, though. Did you post the right file? This had in it what appeared to be an imported CAD map.

That’s good to know, and yes I checked it is the same file I uploaded with the one I’m trying to fix. Also the CAD map has been there for a while so it shouldn’t be an issue. I think it’s the model of a pot with dead branches that took a toll on my SketchUp.

But comparing the previous version or backup of the same file I have on Trimble cloud now, this one is working fine. Considering there is not too much progress gone from my model I just added them back in to this version. Regardless, do you have any tips on what to avoid when working on a model for future reference? Thanks so much

NEVER, download unknown models from 3DW directly into your model.

Download them as a file and open them and inspect them for problems and too much geometry. (Plants are the number one culprit for bloating models.) Fix them or simplify them before inserting into your model. Always keep a good backup of your work model without any foreign components inserted.
