Face Obstructing WIndows

Sorry, I don’t know what terminology to use to make a more representative title.
I have this model of a house, that although probably not most efficiently drawn, has “worked” (ie looked good")

Below is a picture of the foundation that has two inset windows in it. At one point the windows appeared as they should, but somewhere along the line, the lower edge of the foundation (at the grass line) was removed which removed the face of the foundation. The windows, as groups, remained. When I replaced the missing line, the foundation face was redrawn, but it closed in the windows. (the two rectangles on the foundation)

I’ve experimented, but I have no idea how to reveal the windows … bring them up from behind the face to be exposed to the exterior.

Thank you all in advance for your help.

Trace an edge of each window opening and you should them be able to select and delete the faces skinning the openings.

Are you still using SketchUp 2018?

As @DaveR said, and if you want more visual feed back that it’s working as you do it, select the face so it shows as selected, then trace one edge of of the window rectangle, and you can see the selection change.
After selecting the face:

After drawing one edge of the hole:

Oh boy, so embarrassed. That is sketchup essentials 1.0. It’s such a powerful and complex piece of software I often times feel solutions are far more complicated than what they are. Thank you @DaveR and RTCool for your patience and solution.
