I’ve had a Quick Look round and found some rather old topics about this issue, but nothing more recent. I was wondering if the situation with SU on Mac and the lack of tool tips has progressed at all. I have a bunch of large toolset extensions that I have had to print out paper cheat sheets to remind myself of what each function might do. A lot of extensions I only use now and again and I find the graphic in the button is not really much of a reminder of function.
I use JHS Powerbar and 1001 bit tools in particular that don’t show any tips, not even if I make the palettes vertical.
As ever any thoughts or advice gratefully received.
The problem is with horizontal tools, those don’t do tool tips. The same tools dragged to the left of the monitor, to then be vertical, should show tool tips.
Hasn’t been fixed, but there is other work going on that might make the problem no longer occur.
Relaunch doesn’t give tooltips for JHS Powerbar and it’s also too long as a vertical to fit any of my monitors! As you say, if there’s been no updates then for sure that doesn’t help.
Such a shame the Mac functionality isn’t the same as Windows
Has anyone found a reliable workaround for missing tooltips in SketchUp on Mac, especially for extensions such as JHS Powerbar and 1001bit Tools? Custom labels, toolbar alternatives, or any newer plugin solutions would be helpful.
