Extension issue with Windows restart

Hello everyone,

This may be applicable to and OS problem. I have three extensions (paid) from Curic. I bought these extensions when I had a pro version of SU 2025. However, for now I’m limited to using SU 2017Make. The extensions are compatible with 2017. Here’s the issue:

The extensions work fine even if I open a new session of SU. However, whenever and for whatever reason I need to restart Windows (11), the extensions stop working requiring me to uninstall and reinstall the Curic extensions and also recall the licenses. Once I do, everything works fine until a restart is necessary again (big pain in the a..) I have contacted the vendor and they have been unresponsive, so I’m curious to know if there is a way to restart my OS and somehow isolate these specific extensions so they are unaffected by the system reboot? Is it possible that this is a registry issue or something else.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks so much guys.

Just a guess that it has to do with Ruby Encoder. Maybe @curic4su will see this. In case he does, maybe you could list the extensions you are using.

The same thing has been happening to me since I got (in 2019) the Curic Drawing Tools extension and installed it in SketchUp Make 2017. I wrote to Curic for a few years for a solution, but he never replied. SketchUp crashes and I have to delete the license and re-enter it to make it work just once in that session, then it starts over with blocking.

Thanks for your response. Here are the extensions involved:

Curic Extend
Curic Stretch
Curic DIO2
Also OI (not sure; haven’t tested it yet)

Forgot to mention, this isn’t a problem with the Curic free extensions from my experience.

Curic Drawing Tools was composed of the 4 extensions: DIO 2, OI, Extend and Stretch and was sold as a package. At some point (spring 2024) he decided not to update the kit anymore, not that he updated and solved the problem with SketchUp licensing and blocking, and asking you to either buy the Studio package or get the four extensions separately.

Not sure I understand. I purchased the extensions separately already. I didn’t buy them as a package.

It means they are defective no matter how you bought them, individually or in a package.

What is @curic4su?

It’s a ping to let him know to look at these messages.

Okay. Thanks
