Extension: Color maker

COLOR MAKER 1.1.0 for SketchUp 2014 and higher (Free and Pro)

I tried the (old) extention ‘Color Maker’ in Sketchup version 25.0.660. Could download and install it, but it seems to do nothing ( and yep, read the help file pdf ). It supported older versions (16 to 19), does any one has it running (working  ) on 25? Any tip would be appreciatied.

I just installed Color Maker in SketchUp 2025 and it is working for me.

What do you see when you click on the button on its toolbar?

Internal it function, can see all the color types etc. But ‘creating a material, or ‘create all materials’ does not result in any thing. I wanted all the RAL colors, so made a map ral_colors and tried to create all materials. No result.

Hmmm … This is what I get.
colormaker

Can you record a screen capture of what happens when you do the same?

Mhh,… I expected it to make the material in the current showed folder, the one I just made. I did not look in the ‘In Model’ folder. I will have a look..

You need to create the collection from the In Model materials.

I tried it, selected the material folder/map ‘In Model’, i do not get any material…

i ment to type any new material

I went to a clean start, closed iet all, re opened Sketchup (fresh start) selected a new drawing and there it worked in ‘In Model’… @DaveR thx for the help!

I expect you did get the new materials but they were combined with the existing ones. Doing this in a new model makes sense, especially if you are going to create your own collection of materials.

As a final solution, in the clean drawing i deleted first the ‘ThomThom’ figure and removed manually all his colours one by one in ‘In Model’.

Then with the extension ‘Color Maker’ I created all the Ral colours in ‘In Model’ and saved the to a folder (yep you guessed it; RAL_color ). Now I can load that folder in any drawing I like, without overcrowding the ‘In Model’ folder.

You could delete the scale figure and then in Model Info>Statistics, click on Purge Unused. That will remove the component and all of the materials associated with it.

Good deal.

Tried the Model Info>Statistics, click on Purge Unused first, but colors remained. So manuel did the tric.

Did you still have the scale figure in the model space? If so, those materials were not unused.

Nop, there was only one… but anyhow it worked.

Wow… Never saw this extension before. Great! And it works perfect.
