another example :

by choosing Preference\Template\Construction\Documentation I am suppose to be in a 2D mode, no?

If touch the 185.1mm edge of a rectangle with a 185.0 edge of another they stick together!!!

  • impossible to separate them, WHY?
  • if I move one of them, one edge is drawn at an angle… it is like a triangle is being created??? WHY???

Ahh… Yes. The question over why the geometry sticks together. I remember that being so frustrating as a beginner too. Luckily, there is a nifty way to separate your geometry. It’s called groups and components. After watching this video, I’m sure you’ll understand it.

No. SketchUp is a 3D modeling application. While you can look at the model as if it is 2D but it isn’t a 2D mode.

Of course they do. That’s the sticky nature of geometry in SketchUp. You need to learn to use groups and compoents.

You keep asking why everything is so painful. Watch the Getting Started videos and actually learn how the program works. Knowledge is the key.
